The Snoring & Sleep Apnoea Treatment... SomnoDent MAS™

At St. Heliers Dental centre, we offer snoring and sleep apnoea treatment using SomnoDent MAS™. SomnoDent MAS™ is a clinically validated treatment for sleep apnoea and snoring that fits in the palm of your hand. Its unique design permits the user to open and close their mouth normally making it very comfortable to wear.

The SomnoDent MAS™ is custom designed for each individual to help them stop their snoring problems, unlike other snoring treatment devices available. Snoring can create irritability and mood swings, which can lead to relationship problems so it is an important issue to resolve. Snoring may however, be the sign of a serious condition known as Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA).

What is Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA)?

Sleep Apnoea involves one of your airways being blocked off during your sleep, which can lead to the coming together of the walls of your throat. This leads to a halt in breathing for a few seconds or even up to a minute.

Your brain will then send a “wake-up call” after realising there is an issue with your breathing. This will be in the form of waking up slightly, the airway opening and an accompanying snort or gasp for air. The person will then fall back to sleep.

The problem with this is that the sleep will become interrupted and will often lead the person to not feel refreshed after a night’s sleep.

Contact us if you believe you may be suffering from Sleep Apnoea.
